BIOGRAPHY

Marko Klavs is an internationally awarded fine art Still Life photographer from Slovenia, based in Switzerland. His work explores the relationship between light, form, and time, drawing inspiration from classical painting, historic architecture, and the quiet beauty of everyday objects. Through a refined artistic approach, he creates images that combine photographic precision with a timeless and contemplative atmosphere.

His work has been exhibited internationally and recognized for its distinctive artistic vision, technical excellence, and timeless aesthetic. ARTIST STATEMENT

"My work is a visual journey into silence, atmosphere, and timeless beauty."

Photography allows me to slow down and observe the world beyond its immediate appearance. I am drawn to subjects that carry a sense of silence, history, and emotional presence, whether found in a simple still life, a sacred architectural space, or a landscape shaped by light and time.

In the Silent Objects series, I focus on still life, where ordinary objects are elevated through a precise interplay of light and shadow, evoking the atmosphere of Old Master paintings. Through the use of long exposures and a strong emphasis on geometry in Urban Poetry and Timeless Landscapes, I seek to reveal the hidden poetry of spaces and landscapes, preserving moments of stillness, balance, and contemplation.

Through careful composition and the expressive use of light, I strive to create images that transcend documentation and become visual narratives. Rather than simply recording a scene, I seek to create photographs that invite the viewer into a deeper emotional experience. My work is an invitation to pause, reflect, and discover beauty in places and objects that are often overlooked.
